Finance Business Partner, 9 Month Contract, £600 per day

Our client who are a specialist and niche operating company are seeking a Finance Business Partner, the position is starting ASAP and the position is a 9 month contract paying £600 per day.

Role overview:

Responsible for driving a continued step change in the financial and operational performance of the company. This includes driving improved business resource productivity (both assets and staff) and performance, improved financial management and forecasting and ensuring our client meets where relevant there legal and regulatory requirements.

Principal accountabilities

Use commercial understanding, financial and non-financial information with local and external knowledge and experience, to drive best in class improvements in operational and financial business forecasting and management, and therefore performance
Work with the business to drive a step-change in commercial understanding and decision making.
Understand and explain operational and financial performance to managers, taking into account internal and external factors, in a manner that focuses debate and drives a culture of continuous improvement, to ensure they meet & exceed targets
Identify financial and non-financial opportunities and areas for attention, and recommend options for action, including areas of cost reduction, best practice governance and controls, best practice productivity of people and assets, excellent strategic prioritisation of expenses
Present options in a meaningful way underpinned by analysis
Monitor performance against plan and forecast future business performance
Lead the business planning process for the relevant departments in the context of requirements, bottom-up business needs and regulatory impact
Ensure that senior managers work together to develop workable, challenging plans that will achieve companies strategic ambitions
Financial governance and tracking of new solutions implementation. eg. people and process change programmes, as well as review of the solutions implemented for effectiveness and learning
Support and development coaching for less experienced members of the team
Support for year-end audit
Finance and business performance education / communication
Drive the business to achieve operational excellence through process improvement

Qualifications and experience

Graduate or post-graduate level qualifications plus significant finance business partnering experience and driving step-change in a business
Fully qualified accountant with 5 years plus experience driving financial and productivity in a manufacturing / high process driven environment
Experience operating in a regulated environment would be advantageous.
Experience leading and delivering significant step-change business programmes would be advantageous
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Highly numerate and with strong commercial aptitude
Confident in influencing and leading business managers
Proven ability to present a compelling argument through written, numerical and oral presentations
Ability to work effectively on own initiative and autonomously, without close supervision
Strong consultancy and influencing skills
Ability to plan, project manage and delegate effectively
Desire to learn and develop
